The Boston Red Sox are in talks with free-agent Cody Ross, according to reports from Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com.

Last season Ross  hit .240 with 14 homeruns and 52 RBI for the Giants in just 121 games. Just two years ago, however, Ross hit .270/.321/.469 with 24 home runs and 90 RBI as a starter for the Florida Marlins. The Red Sox finished last season with 90 wins and 72 losses, missing the playoffs by just one game. If Boston signs Ross, he will potentially compete to be the team’s everyday right fielder.
