Bernard Hopkins, Chad Dawson Agree To April 28 Rematch In Atlantic City

Bernard Hopkins, the light heavyweight champion of the world, has secured an April rematch with rival Chad Dawson, according to Dan Rafael of ESPN.

Hopkins and former titlist Dawson controversially fought to a second-round no-decision last fall. A messy incident in that Oct. 14 fight resulted in Dawson shoving Hopkins to the canvas and dislocating a joint in his left shoulder.

The rematch is now set for April 28 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Rafael has confirmed with both sides.

Richard Schaefer and Gary Shaw, the promoters for Hopkins and Dawson respectively, were able to come to terms today ahead of Friday afternoon's WBC-ordered deadline.
