Report: Buccaneers Plan To Hire Rutgers' Greg Schiano As New Head Coach

Update - 12:14 p.m.: Brett McMurphy of CBS Sports has reported that Greg Schiano has accepted the head coaching position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Original - 10:31 a.m.: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers plan to hire Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. A deal has not yet been finalized.

Schiano, 45, has served as the head coach of Rutgers since 2001. In that time he has led the Scarlet Knights to a 68-67 overall record, and has won in five out of six Bowl Game appearances.

Schiano also previously served as the defensive coordinator for the University of Miami from 1999-200.
