While Alexander Ovechkin made headlines this week by opting out of this weekend's All-Star Game in Ottawa, another big name is opting in: Jamie Benn has recovered from his emergency appendectomy and should be good to go Sunday, according to the Canadian Press.

The Dallas Stars activated the 22-year-old winger today. Benn had been missing since Jan. 14 and was expected to miss about two weeks, but he's now ready to make his return a bit ahead of schedule.

Benn has 13 goals and 29 assists for Dallas so far this season. He missed five games after the appendectomy, with the Stars going 1-4. The All-Star Game gets underway at 4 p.m. Sunday.
