Chiefs' Matt Cassel Helps Save Woman From Burning House

The Kansas City Chiefs may only have gone 7-9 this past season, but their quarterback is a hero nonetheless. Local television station KMBC-TV reports that Matt Cassel helped save a woman from a fire in her Loch Lloyd, Mo., home on Thursday night.

Cassel ran to the woman's house in the gated community of Village of Loch Lloyd after his wife noticed smoke coming from the building. Witnesses told the TV station that Cassel knocked and rang the doorbell to get the woman's attention then ran around the house until he saw her come out.

"I know Matt wouldn't want this kind of attention, but I definitely think he was a hero last night," one witness said.

"I just ran up to the house and alerted them," Cassel said. "The real heroes are the firefighters."
