The Texas Rangers and pitcher Roy Oswalt will meet Monday, according to ESPN.com. Several reports have stated that Oswalt has narrowed his choices to the Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals.

"If that were to happen, you'd love to have extra depth," Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Friday. "The flip side we've got to consider is what if that doesn't happen? How does it all fit together? We've spent a lot of time and resources developing this younger group where they are ready to maybe take that next step and do we owe it to them? Those are things we're walking through right now."

Oswalt, 34, has said that he will not pitch in relief, which could make for a crowded staff in Texas. As a Philadelphia Phillie last season, Oswalt was 9-10 with a 3.69 ERA.
