Jose Reyes, shortstop for the Miami Marlins, will cut off his famously long hair on MLB Network on Friday, according to a tweet form his agent Chris Leible.

Due to team policy, Reyes will be forced to cut his hair prior to the 2012 season. The All-Star shortstop had previously played his entire career with the New York Mets, who had no such policy, before signing a $106 million deal with the Marlins this winter. The New York Yankees are famous for having a similar hair policy. Johnny Damon had to shed his famous locks and beard prior to joining them in 2006.
