Rams Still Expected To Play In London Games Despite St. Louis Stadium Issues

The Saint Louis Rams are still expected to be a part of the London games next season, even though they are facing lease problems, according to Roger Goodell in his press conference today, reports Pro-Football Talk.

“We’re going to play the London games,” Goodell said. “We hope it will be with the Rams and the New England Patriots next year. That’s what we planned. I think it’s great for the city of St. Louis to be able to get that global exposure, but there are issues that are going to have to get resolved.”

Currently the city of Saint Louis and the Rams are resolving issues based around differing expectations of the team’s stadium, Edward Jones Dome. The stadium situation could ultimately result in the relocation of the Rams, potentially to Los Angeles.

The Edward Jones Dome has hosted five NFC playoff games and a NFC championship game. The dome has received some renovation in regards to a permanent turf and scoreboard, but the Rams feel that it would need to improve drastically to be in the top 25 percent of stadiums in the NFL.
