New York Yankees relief pitcher Joba Chamberlain threw off a half-mound Friday during his rehabilitation from elbow surgery, according to the Associated Press. Chamberlain had elbow ligament replacement surgery last June.

Both Yankees pitching coach Larry Rothschild and vice president Billy Connors watched the session and said that it went well, according to the report. Chamberlain made only 27 appearances a season ago before surgery. He is expected to rejoin the team this season.
