The Cubs have been looking to deal Garza all winter, but they now appear ready to roll the dice on the 28-year-old for at least the first half of 2012. Garza and the Cubs avoided arbitration this week by agreeing to a deal that will pay him $9.5 million this season. Garza was productive for the Cubs last season, notching a 3.32 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 31 starts.
