The Texas Rangers have signed first baseman Conor Jackson and left-handed reliever Joe Beimel, according to MLB Trade Rumors.

Jackson, 29, hit .244/.310/.341 with five home runs in 114 games between Oakland and Boston last season. Jackson is best known for his ability to hit for a strong average and get on base, however his lack of power has kept him from holding a consistent starting job at first base for most of his career.

In seven seasons Jackson has hit .271/.351/.407 with an average 13 home runs and 73 RBI per season. Beimel, 34, posted a 5.33 ERA in 35 appearances out of the bullpen for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season. Over the course of his career he has posted a 4.21 ERA in 567 appearances.
