Peyton Manning Trains With Duke Football Team
Indianopolis Colt’s quarterback Peyton Manning has been working out with the Duke University football team, according to Durham NBC 17.
NBC 17 confirmed the news after a tweet from Matt Skura, the center for the Blue Devils tweeted Wednesday: "Got to stretch next to Peyton Manning today and say hello."
Duke’s head coach David Cutliffe is still a close friend with Manning since coaching the quarterback at the University of Tennessee. Missing the entire 2011-12 season with a neck injury, Manning is still unsure of where he will be playing next season. With the first pick in this year’s draft, the Colts are likely to acquire Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. As Manning recovers from his spinal fusion surgery, Colts owner Jim Irsay faces a tough decision ahead of him. If he doesn’t release the four-time NFL MVP quarterback by March 8, he will need to pay the 14-year Colts quarterback a roster bonus of $28 million.
