Indians Reach Deal With Asdrubal Cabrera To Avoid Arbitration

The Cleveland Indians have reached terms on an agreement with infielder Asdrubal Cabrera to avoid arbitration, the team has announced. According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, the deal is worth $4.55 million.

Cabrera was named to his first All-Star team last year after hitting .273/.332/.460 with 25 home runs and 92 RBI for the Indians. The 25-year-old also won the Silver Slugger for shortstop and finished in the top-20 in Most Valuable Player voting in the American League.

Over the course of his five-year career, Cabrera has averaged .281/.343/.414 with 13 home runs and 78 RBI per 162 games played.
