The Cleveland Indians have signed veteran starting pitcher Jon Garland to a minor league contract, according to ESPN.

Garland could likely fit into the Indians’ rotation if he passes the team physical.

In his one-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers last year, Garland began the season on the disabled list with an oblique strain. With the Dodogers, Garland had a 4.33 ERA with a 1-5 record through his only nine starts.  In June, he acquired a right shoulder injury and was out for the season.
