Jose Canseco is back in baseball -- if you believe everything the 47-year-old retired slugger posts to his Twitter account.

Canseco revealed in an interview a couple of weeks ago that he was working out on his own and angling for a return to the major leagues, and now it appears he's got a foot in the door. The former "Bash Brother" is on a plane, heading south of the border to get his career back on track.

Canseco’s last apperance in the major leagues came on Oct. 6, 2001 with the Chicago White Sox. Since retiring, he hasn't faded from the public eye -- Canseco has found work as a semi-pro player, writer, public speaker and reality TV star. Canseco has 462 career home runs and 1,407 RBIs in 17 major-league seasons. (So far.)
