The Big East will announce this morning that West Virginia University will leave for the Big 12, according to Brett McMurphy of CBS Sports.
The Mountaineers will begin competing in the Big 12 in the 2012-13 season. It was reported earlier this week that the Big East and West Virginia had reached a settlement worth an estimated $20 million to allow the school to leave the conference on short notice.
The Big East has seen a major reshuffling in the past several months. After losing West Virginia, Pittsburgh, TCU, and Syracuse, they have added Memphis, Boise State, San Diego State, Houston, and UCF.
