New York Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin has 1.14 million followers on the Chinese social platform Sina Weibo, as of five days ago, he had just 300,000.

He currently has 297,000 followers on twitter.

Lin, 23, has exploded on to the basketball scene over the past few days after coming out of relative obscurity to help the floundering New York Knicks claim six straight victories. He has done so, until last night, without the help of Amar’e Stoudemire or Carmelo Anthony. The undrafted Harvard graduate has averaged 26.8 points and 8.5 assists per game in that span. Lin was born in America and is of both Chinese and Taiwanese descent, making him the first player in league history with such a background.
