Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban says that if Jeremy Lin was performing the same way he is on the Knicks for the Charlotte Bobcats, no one would know about it, according to ESPN.

"If it was happening in Charlotte, no one would know," Cuban told ESPN.

"New York is still kind of the mecca of the media for basketball," Cuban added. "It's great for the league, so you've got to love it. And Jeremy Lin is a great kid, so I'm happy for him." Lin, 23, has exploded on to the basketball scene over the past few weeks after coming out of relative obscurity to help the floundering New York Knicks claim seven straight victories. He has done so without the help of Carmelo Anthony. The undrafted Harvard graduate has averaged 24.4 points, 9.1 assists per game in those starts.
