Carmelo Anthony: I Want Jeremy Lin To Have The Ball

Despite a loss in his return to the Knicks' lineup after injury, Carmelo Anthony says he wants rising star Jeremy Lin to have the ball, according to USA Today.

"My mindset was not try to come in and do too much. Try to fit in. Try to play my game within the system the way that they've been playing the last couple weeks," Anthony said to reporters after the game.  "I want Jeremy to have the ball. Hands down, I want him to create for me. I want him to create for Amare (Stoudemire). I want him to create for everybody and still be as aggressive as he's been over the past two weeks. I want that." the Knicks star said.

Many Knicks fans have worried that Anthony's return might disrupt the success the Knicks have enjoyed since Lin's promotion to the starting point guard position.  In his first game back Monday,  Anthony finished the game with 11 points and went 4 for 11 from the field in a loss to the New Jersey Nets.  Lin scored 21 points with nine assists.
