The Detroit Red Wings will announce a two-year extension for forward Todd Bertuzzi, according to the Detroit Free Press.

“We're working at it, and getting closer."  Bertuzzi's agent, Pat Morris, told the Free Press today.

The 37-year old Bertuzz is in the last of a two-year deal that's averaged $1,937,500. The new deal, which could be announced as early as Thursday, is worth about $2.2 million each season.

This year, Bertuzzi has 12 goals, 17 assists, and 29 points through 54 games.
