Former MLB outfielder Elijah Dukes was arrested early this morning after police allegedly found him in possession of marijuana, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Police say that Dukes was pulled over at about 1 a.m. for a traffic violation. Officers report they saw a small bag of marijuana in Dukes' lap. The former outfielder then reportedly attempted to eat the marijuana in order to dispose of the evidence. Dukes also allegedly had a marijuana blunt behind his ear.
The former top prospect faces charges of tampering with evidence, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a cancelled, suspended, or revoked license, according to the Times. Dukes, who was cut by the Washington Nationals before the 2010 season, has been arrested five times in the past year.
