The New York Jets will reportedly give outside linebacker Aaron Maybin a first-round restricted free agent tender, a source has told the New York Daily News.
The estimated value for the one-year tender will be between $2.5-2.75 million, according to the Daily News. As a result of the tender, another team would have to award the Jets their first-round pick in the 2012 draft if they were to sign Maybin.
The Jets will also have the right to match any contract offer given Maybin, as he is an unrestricted free agent. Last season Maybin had 11 tackles and six sacks in 13 games. Throughout the past two seasons with the Bills and the Jets, he has had 35 tackles, six sacks and five forced fumbles.
