Lamar Odom Still Away From Mavericks, Attending To Sick Father

Tuesday February 28th, 2012

Lamar Odom left the Dallas Mavericks last week to attend to his ill father, and there's still no timetable for him to return to the team, according to Jeff Caplan of ESPN Dallas.

"Lamar is not here today," Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said today. "He is still dealing with a family matter and the hope is he'll join us soon, and we'll update you when there's an update."

The Mavs resume their season post-All-Star break tomorrow night at home against the New Jersey Nets. Odom is not expected to play. Odom has struggled during his first two months in a Mavericks uniform. A former Sixth Man of the Year with the Los Angeles Lakers, the veteran forward is averaging just 7.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 32 games this season.
