The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired forward prospect Carter Ashton from the Tama Bay Lightning, according to NHL.com.

Ashton was the first round choice by the Lightning in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Through 56 games this season he has tallied 19 goals and 16 assists for 35 points for the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.

The Maple Leafs sent defenseman Keith Aulie to the Lightning in return for Ashton. Aulie, 22, has tallied two assists and 16 penalty minutes in 17 games for the Maple Leafs this season
