The Washington Wizards have "aggressively tried" to trade young power forward Andray Blatche, according to Michael Lee of the Washington Post.

Blatche has struggled mightily this season and was benched a month ago in favor of rookie Jan Vesely. He is currently missing in action with a strained left calf. He's missed 16 games this season, all told.

Multiple league sources told Lee the Wizards have been shopping Blatche with the intent to deal him before the March 15 trade deadline, but with no takers -- they tried moving Blatche to Charlotte last month for Tyrus Thomas but were rejected. Blatche signed a contract extension in the summer of 2012 and is still owed nearly $23 million after this season.
