San Diego Chargers running back Mike Tolbert will likely not be re-signed by the team, according to NBC Sports.

According to sources close to the situation, the Chargers and Tolbert have not talked about a new deal nor have they shown any signs of progress. Tolbert will likely become an unrestricted free agent on March 13. San Diego will need to find another running back behind starter Ryan Matthews. Last season, Tolbert rushed for 490 yards and led the team with eight touchdowns. Along with his knack for getting into the endzone, the Chargers running back was one of the best tacklers in kick coverage in the NFL last season.
