Remember Lamar Odom's plan to make a rehab start in the D-League before reporting back to the Dallas Mavericks? Well, scratch that -- ESPN reports that Odom is reversing course and heading back to the Mavs in advance of tonight's game against the Utah Jazz.

Odom, who has battled several off-court issues this season including the illness of his father, was planning to take some time away from the NBA this week to get back on track. But with the Mavs' big club losing four straight games, including a 97-92 clunker to the hapless New Orleans Hornets, the team needs Odom now.

The Mavs, who have lost five out of six games and slipped into a tie for sixth in the Western Conference, made the move this morning to recall Odom from the Texas Legends. He will be with the team in Dallas tonight. Odom, the league's reigning Sixth Man of the Year, is averaging just 7.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 32 games with the Mavs this season.
