LSU Women's Soccer Player & Homecoming Queen Cut From LSU Football Team Tryouts

LSU women’s soccer goalkeeper and Homecoming Queen, Mo Isom, was recently cut from the LSU Football team in her attempt to become their next kicker, according to CBS News.

Isom was one of the greatest goalkeepers in the history of LSU women’s soccer program. She finished her career by setting a school record of 30 shutouts and racked up a number of accolades and awards throughout her time at LSU.

Isom was looking to expand her athletic talents to football and take on the challenge of becoming LSU’s back-up kicker. She began practicing kicking field goals a year ago, but unfortunately did not make the cut for LSU’s spring squad.

"This is a pursuit, a passionate pursuit," Isom said in an interview with CBS. "And a desire. At the end of the day, when all is said and done, the thing that's most important to me, and has been so amazing in this process, are the people who see that and have been inspired by it."

Although she did not make the spring squad, she is going to attempt to make the team in the fall.
