Report: Lakers Land Backup PG Ramon Sessions In Trade With Cavaliers

At long last, the Los Angeles Lakers have landed the point guard they've wanted all along for the stretch run -- and no, it's not Chris Paul, Deron Williams or Rajon Rondo. The Lakers are getting Ramon Sessions from the Cleveland Cavaliers, reports Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

The Lakers have had their eye all season on Sessions, who's averaging 10.5 points, 5.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game as the backup for Cavs rookie Kyrie Irving. Sessions can jump in and right away be a huge help to the Lakers' backcourt depth.

The Lakers have been one guard away from championship contention all season, with Derek Fisher at 37, Steve Blake struggling to shoot from outside and Kobe Bryant forced to play ungodly minutes. Sessions' presence will make a big impact on all three guards.
