Injured Clipper Chauncey Billups Feels 'Bittersweet' Watching From Sidelines

Los Angeles Clippers guard Chauncey Billups underwent season-ending surgery on his torn Achilles tendon on Feb. 15. A month later, he returned to the Staples Center locker room to see his Clips take on the Houston Rockets, and he admitted it was tough to be watching as a spectator.

"It's definitely bittersweet," Billups told NBA.com. "I would just like to be walking in and putting my jersey on, of course, going out there and fighting with the guys. Obviously, I can't do that. But on the flip side, it's just really good to see the guys and see them just as happy to see me."

Billups was amnestied by the New York Knicks in December; the Clippers signed him to be their two-guard alongside Chris Paul. He tore the Achilles in a road win over the Orlando Magic a month ago; it typically takes 6-9 months to recover from such an injury.
