Report: Knicks' Amare Stoudemire Out Indefinitely With Back Injury

The New York Knicks are on the verge of falling out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture, and losing one of their two superstar scorers certainly won't help matters. Amare Stoudemire is out indefinitely with a back injury, according to MSG's Alan Hahn:

Stoudemire missed a team shootaround this morning to have an MRI; the Knicks discovered the disc announced the All-Star forward's absence today. Stoudemire will need a non-surgical procedure to mend the back.

Back injuries are nothing new for Stoudemire -- back spasms slowed him down in last year's first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics, who swept the Knicks in four games. Stoudemire athletically hasn't quite been the same since.
