Report: Miami Marlins Release Aaron Rowand

The Miami Marlins have released centerfielder Aaron Rowand, according to Hardballtalk.

Rowand, 34, had signed a minor league deal with the team in December, but was not able to make the major league squad this spring.

The former All-Star hit .233/.274/.347 last year in 108 games for the San Francisco Giants. Over the course of his career he has hit .273/.330/.435 with 136 home runs and 536 RBI.

His best season came in 2007 when he hit .309/.374/.515 with 27 home runs and 89 RBI for the Philadelphia Phillies.
