The Detroit Tigers have placed infielder Brandon Inge on the disabled list, according to the team’s official Twitter account.

Inge, 34, hit a career worst .197/.265/.283 with three home runs and 23 RBI in 303 plate appearances for the Tigers last season.  It was expected that Inge would serve as a utility player and emergency catcher for Detroit this season. This spring, Inge had it just .180/.226/.300 in 50 plate appearances.
