A White House spokesperson said Barack Obama believes that women should be admitted as members to the all-male Augusta National golf club, according to Yahoo Sports.

White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters Thursday that Obama’s “personal opinion is that women should be admitted” to the golf club. The issue of gender at Augusta National has been raised once again as newly appointed IBM’s CEO Virginia Rometty was not extended and invitation for membership. IBM is a long time sponsor of Augusta and traditionally all male CEO’s of the company have been extended an invitation.
