Wells' last appearance in the big leagues came on Oct. 1, 2009, with the Cincinnati Reds. He previously spent 11 years in the majors, split among eight different teams. It was the White Sox who gave him his start, drafting him No. 16 overall in the first round of the 1998 draft. Fourteen years later, he's back in the ChiSox' system again.
