Marlins Manager Ozzie Guillen Apologizes For Saying He Loves Fidel Castro

Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is no stranger to putting his foot in his mouth, but this might be a new low even for Ozzie. The skipper issued an apology today for telling a magazine he loves Fidel Castro, according to the AP.

The Marlins released a statement today saying there is "nothing to respect" about Castro, calling him a "brutal dictator."

Guillen had said in an interview with Time magazine that he loves Castro and respects him for staying in power so long. Before tonight's game against the Cincinnati Reds, he called a closed-door meeting with the media and apologized for the statement, adding that he's opposed to the way Castro has treated the Cuban people.
