Defensive tackle Amobi Okoye, formerly of the Chicago Bears, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a source tells Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago.

The move isn't altogether surprising -- Bears GM Phil Emery said during a conference call earlier this week that he expected Okoye to sign with another team.

"I think Amobi is trying to decide which direction he's going," Emery said. "We've had conversations with him. So far we haven't been able to work out a deal. I really believe that Amobi is probably going in a different direction." Okoye spent just one season in Chicago, where he recorded 18 tackles including four sacks. Before that, he spent four seasons with the Houston Texans, who originally selected him with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft.
