Baylor Basketball Facing Possible NCAA Sanctions

Baylor University’s men and women basketball programs are facing possible NCAA sanctions after an investigation revealed more than 1,200 impermissible phone calls and text messages, according to an NCAA summary disposition obtained by ESPN.com.

The disposition documented the massive amounts of phone calls and texts labeling them as “major violations” because of the frequency with which they occurred.  The men's and women's basketball programs sent 738 impermissible text messages and made 528 impermissible calls over  29-month span.

According to the report, men’s coach Scott Drew and women’s coach Kim Mulkey acknowledged their infractions and are at risk for a show-cause penalty, which means any penalties will remain on record regardless of where they coach and schools that wish to hire to them in the future would have to "show cause" as to why they should not inherit the penalties.
