Report: Vlad Guerrero In Dominican Police Custody Following Brawl

Update - 9:54 A.M. - NBC Sports reports that Vladimir Guerrero is currently in police custody and is being charged with physical and verbal assault to an authority.

Original - 9:48 A.M.  -According to Dominican Today, Dominican Republic police announced that they have issued an arrest warrant for former MLB All-Star Vladimir Guerrero.

The report states that Guerrero is wanted for allegedly showing aggression against a police major, and for starting a brawl at a local discotheque. A police spokesperson told the paper that several of Guerrero’s family members are being held currently for their alleged part in the brawl.

Guerrero, 37, failed to sign with a Major League team this winter after a one-year stint with the Baltimore Orioles. The former American League Most Valuable Player is originally from the Dominican Republic and was signed as an amateur at the age of 18.
