Petrino was injured last week in a motorcycle accident near Crosses, Arkansas. He claimed to have been riding alone, but it was later revealed that he was with Razorbacks volleyball player Jessica Dorrell, and the two were involved in an inappropriate relationship.

The Arkansas athletic department has been deliberating for days over Petrino's future, but they have reportedly arrived at a final decision. A news conference to announce the firing is expected shortly. Petrino was successful on the field during his four years at Arkansas -- he went 34-17, including 21-5 in his last two seasons. He led the team to a Cotton Bowl victory and earned a Sugar Bowl berth as well.
