New York Giants are finalizing details on a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals for linebacker Keith Rivers, according to The Star Ledger.
It is believed that the Giants will be sending Cincinnati a fifth round draft pick in return for the former first round pick.
Rivers, 25, has yet to complete an entire season. During his rookie season he missed the final nine games after suffering a broken jaw. In the past two seasons he has missed a total of four games due to various injuries.
Last year he recorded 77 tackles and one sack. Over the course of his three-year career, he has tallied 186 tackles and 2.0 sacks. Rivers is scheduled to earn $2.16 million in base salary this upcoming season. However, the Giants may choose to rework his contract if the trade goes through.
