The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to a minor league deal with infielder Mike Fonetenot, according to several online reports. Fontenot was released by the San Francisco Giants near the end of spring training.

In San Francisco last year, Fontenot played second base, third base, and shortstop, hitting .227/.304/.377 in just over 250 plate appearances. In stops with the Chicago Cubs and Giants, Fontenot, 31, has 26 home runs and a .263 career average.
