Cleveland Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera has been placed on the bereavement list and will miss three to seven days due to his return home to Venezuela following the death of his grandfather, according to Cleveland.com.

"He'll probably miss the rest of this trip," said Cleveland manager Manny Acta. "He was pretty shaken up Monday. His grandfather was a very important person in his life.”

The Indians recalled pitcher Nick Hagadone from Class AAA Columbus to temporarily fill Cabrera’s spot on the roster. Cabrera is hitting .282 with three doubles, two homers, and three RBIs in eight games.
