Chicago Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa left Tuesday’s game against the Phoenix Coyotes after Coyotes winger Raffi Torres hit Hossa near center ice, according to NBC’s Liam McHugh. Video of the hit can be found here.

In an interview with NBC, Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville called the hit “brutal” and “hard to believe.” Torres is no stranger to dangerous hits – he was nearly suspended for a hit on Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook last postseason and was suspended four games for a hit on Edmonton Oilers’ forward Jordan Eberle last April.
