Marcus Camby, who was traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to Houston at the trading deadline, said Saturday that it was “hard to escape” the discussion of a curse in the locker room, according to Pro Basketball Talk:

“They might not want to admit it, but when I was there, my goodness, people were saying, 'Are we really snake-bit? Are we really cursed?' Camby said. "Doubts and talks like that came about. Everybody just tried to brush it to one side and remain positive, but it was hard to escape because everybody was talking about it. It’s hard to argue when it keeps happening year after year after year.”
In recent years, the Trail Blazers have endured bad luck with injuries and draft picks – the chronic knee problems for former first overall pick Greg Oden are just one example, as the early forced retirement of first-round pick Brandon Roy, who also experienced knee problems.
