Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald Wants Team To Draft Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd

Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald wants his team to pick Notre Dame standout receiver Michael Floyd in the NFL Draft this Thursday, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King.

Fitzgerald told King that he would like the Cardinals to draft the Notre Dame star with the No. 13 pick in the first round.

For the Fighting Irish last season, Floyd caught 100 catches for 1147 yards and nine touchdowns.  Draft experts believe that Floyd is the second-best wide receiver prospect in this year's draft class behind Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon.

With Anquan Boldin leaving the Cardinals two seasons ago to play for the Baltimore Ravens, Fitzgerald thinks the team is missing depth at the receiver position.  Last season, while Fitzgerald led the team catching 80 passes with 1411 yards and eight touchdowns, the Cardinals' second-best receiver, Early Doucet, caught only 54 passes for 689 yards with five touchdowns.
