The Atlanta Braves demoted starting pitcher Jair Jurrjens to Triple-A Gwinnett Monday night, according to the Associated Press.

Jurrjens, 26, was an All-Star for the Braves in 2011. In 23 starts the right-handed posted a 13-6 record with a 2.96 ERA. This season, through four starts, he is 0-2 and is leading the National League in earned runs allowed with 17, and home runs allowed with five. Jurrjens has started at least 20-or-more games each year in the Major Leagues since 2008. In three of his four full Major League seasons he has posted an ERA below 4.00 and at least 10 wins.
