Boston Bruins Release Statement On Racial Tweets Aimed At Joel Ward

The Boston Bruins released a statement this afternoon on the racial comments made by some on social networks last night following the club’s Game 7 loss to the Washington Capitals.

"The Bruins are very disappointed by the racist comments that were made following the game last night. These classless, ignorant views are in no way a reflection of anyone associated with the Bruins organization."

Several news outlets publicized racist tweets shared by hundreds of Bruins fans last night after Joel Ward scored the series clinching goal in overtime of Game 7. With the score the Capitals will advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
