Detroit Tigers OF Delmon Young Apologizes After Arrest

Detroit Tigers outfielder Delmon Young released a statement Friday apologizing after being arrested early Friday morning on hate crime charges, according to the Associated Press.

Police say Young got into a fight early Friday with a group of men outside the team's hotel in Manhattan. It is alleged that Young yelled anti-Semitic comments at the men.

"I sincerely regret what happened last night," Young said in a statement. "I take this matter very seriously and assure everyone that I will do everything I can to improve myself as a person and player."
