Shaquille O’Neal, soon to be called Dr.O'Neal, will be awarded a doctorate in education this weekend from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fl, according to the Sun Sentinel.
After completing 16 courses, 54 credit hours, and finishing with a 3.8 GPA., the four-time NBA champion successfully defended his dissertation project titled, “How Leaders Utilize Humor or Seriousness in Leadership Roles.”
“He was a good student,” Dr. David M. Kopp, chairman of the university’s Organizational Learning and Leadership program, said. “He is very intellectually curious. He is like a sponge, he takes everything in.” O’Neal, 40, will be participating this weekend's graduation ceremonies along with 1,100 other students. In his 19-year career, O'Neal played with the Magic, Lakers, Heat, Suns, Cavaliers and Celtics. He ranks sixth all-time in points scored with 28,596, one spot behind Kobe Bryant.
